The former president's Family Member Seeks Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Prior to LPGA First Appearance

Young golfer preparing for significant competition

The rising star boasts substantial social media following

Kai Trump can count on numerous prominent supporters as she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a tournament invitation to compete at the Annika competition in Florida.

Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, operates several golf courses and regularly plays against Kai.

"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we have competitive games," she revealed.

The golfer shared that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Just stay calm."

"He basically advised me to compete and have fun," she continued.

"From my perspective, he's simply a normal grandpa. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's somewhat preoccupied."

Being non-professional, Kai has played in a mere three competitions in 2024 and has the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association standings.

However she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, romantically involved with Vanessa.

"He represents the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai expressed.

"Additionally, he's an even better person. He suggested me to go out there, relax, following whatever happens."

The golfer will compete against some of the biggest names in professional golf at the Annika, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.

Tournament organizers stated that Kai's presence brings golf to wider groups, particularly among younger fans.

The social media influencer boasts substantial online presence and has started an exclusive fashion and living brand.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
