Mohamed Salah Extends Apology to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that Salah expressed regret to the group of players following the uproar from his public comments.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a vital match subsequent to criticising the club and suggesting his relationship with manager had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has refused to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.

The player stated that the team's response was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
He also noted that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”

The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the games following the interview fallout. Jones believes the forward's comments were never meant to destabilise the squad.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a desire to win,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
