"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob valued immensely. That is part of the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a separate tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to bar the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the LAPD.

A judicial mandate put a security hold on the cases to prohibit the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the result of homicide, with a official listing noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
